The History of Gaia, The Holy War.

Many years ago when our planet was a barren wasteland, a great being from beyond the stars descended from the heavens and saw the world as an open canvas upon which she could create the greatest masterpiece of all. She created 3 races, the Mammals, the Reptiles, and the Aves, and made the planet a paradise for them to live their lives in peace. Out of gratitude the creatures named their world after their Goddess, and so the world would be called Gaia.

For a time the world was at peace, until one day one of the races questioned which of her races she loved the most. Each of the races soon began to quarrel over who was her favorite. It wasn’t long before these petty squabbles became fierce wars that scarred the world that was once a paradise. To stop the fighting Gaia created a new race, which would be her private force of peacekeepers. They were called the Mythics, lead by powerful dragons they ended the wars and brought peace back to the planet. To prevent any further quarrels Gaia created a grand palace for herself whom any of her creatures could come to visit her and ask anything of her they desired.

However this peace would be short lived. When one day the leader of the Mythics, a powerful dragon who later would name himself Vile, came to Gaia’s palace and asked her "Why do we the strong serve those that are weak?"

To that question she responded that the strong must always take the responsibility to protect those who cannot protect themselves.

Sadly this answer was not good enough for Vile, and he rebelled against Gaia and her other children trying to seize her throne for his kind. The Mammals, Reptiles and Aves united when their deity was in danger and once again war ruled the land. Even with all three races united they were no match for their former protectors. The Mythics were more powerful then all of the other races combined.

Knowing that soon none of her beloved children would survive this war. Gaia created one final race. She created them not to provide her other races with power but with intellect to give them a mental edge against the Mythics. This species was called Man. With their number now replenished and with the humans leading them the tides quickly turned against the Mythics. Eventually the Mythics surrendered.

As punishment for their deceit, Gaia sealed the remaining Mythics deep within the depths of her planet. With the exception of Vile to ensure he could never cause such pain again she split him into two beings, and they too were sealed away with the other Mythics.

Since that day the other four races have lived in peace. Using only the memory of the horrors that war has brought to their planet as the ultimate deterrent.
